The Mecity 20-bar espresso machine is an interesting machine that a lot of people have been talking about recently due to its variety of different features, all while being reasonably cheap. But is it worth it? I was thinking the exact same, and so I decided to test this one out to see how it holds up.
So, feel free to read on as I list the benefits and drawbacks in my Mecity 20-bar espresso machine review.

The Design of This Machine
When it comes to the design, I must say that I really like it. The stainless steel finishing on this machine could easily look great in many different kitchens, and it blended right into my kitchen.
Using the machine is quite easy. Thanks to the button control panel on the top, I found it simple to control and operate. With an on button, single or double espresso options, and a frother button, I could get it to do everything I wanted it to do with ease.
At the top of the machine, it also has an air pressure indicator, allowing me to see exactly what the air pressure is when I’m extracting my espresso.
Dual Brewing Function
The dual brewing function came in handy for me. As I love my espresso to be quite strong, I enjoyed the dual function to get stronger espresso faster, without having to do the whole process all over again like I do with many other machines.
Warming Zone
One feature that I quite enjoyed was the warming zone. This is a hot area on the top of the machine where I could warm my cups up before I made my espresso. Having this feature was a great idea, and drinking espresso out of warm cups really improved its taste.
Steam Wand
This machine uses a steam wand, and it’s quite a high-quality one, in my opinion. It can produce great froth for cappuccinos, lattes, and flat whites, and I was even able to do some latte art with it!
Another great benefit of this steam wand is that it is easily adjustable, allowing me to change the position to fit different cups and mugs, which you don’t really get with the majority of machines.
On top of this, the machine also comes with a stainless steel removable drip tray, which I could take out to help fit my massive travel mug easily. With most machines I’ve tried in the past, I had to make a coffee in one cup and transfer it to my travel mug. This saved me so much time, so I have to give it top marks for this feature!
Cleaning the Machine
There are some great benefits to this machine, as well as some disadvantages.
The removable drip tray (as we’ve previously mentioned) and the removable water tank make cleaning these parts much easier, which is a great advantage.
However, the cleaning is a little bit difficult getting into all the nooks and crannies, and you do need to clean it every week for optimum taste. But apart from that, it’s not too difficult and is easier to clean than some machines I’ve tested.

This is a great machine. The different features such as the dual brewing function and the adjustable steam wand really make this a top-quality machine.
Although cleaning may be slightly tricky, it personally didn’t bother me too much.
