While I was on the hunt for a decent quality espresso machine that wasn’t going to ruin my bank account, I came across the Homtone espresso machine 20 bar.

I found this to be a great machine with a variety of different features, but it’s not without its faults too. So, read on as I list all its advantages and disadvantages, and whether I think this machine is worth it.

My Star Rating

The Quality of the Coffee

Let me start off by saying that the coffee quality was quite nice, especially seeing as though it wasn’t as expensive as some of the top-end machines. So, if you’re a beginner or just want something cheap, this is a great choice (in my opinion).

The 20-bar espresso machine pumped out good coffee and provided some really rich crema.

Some of my friends who came around to try it really complimented me on the taste. So top marks for this one!

The Look of The Machine

Personally, I thought the machine looked really cool. The retro stainless steel look complimented the rest of my kitchen, and the black and silver design really stands out. If you’re a big fan of how a machine looks (like I am), you will probably love this machine.

The touch panel is another good addition. It is easy to use, and there are four options to choose from: single cup, double cup, steam for frothing milk, and the power button.

The Frother

As a self-proclaimed cappuccino lover, this machine was perfect for me. The frother was very high-quality. It froths at around 266 degrees Fahrenheit and provides a great consistency for frothy drinks. I could notice the smoothness of the froth after the very first sip.

Cup Warming Tray

The cup warming tray on the top of the machine was one of the best things about it. I love having a hot cup to go with my hot coffee. I’d go as far as to say that one of the main reasons I got the machine was because of this feature!

Cleaning the Machine

Because of the size, I found this machine very easy to clean. The water tank is easy to take out and clean, and it is quite easy to get in and clean the rest of it. It doesn’t clean itself like an automatic machine, but it’s still relatively easy to clean compared to similar machines.

Some Negatives

However, although it has its positives, it’s not without its negatives as well. One of them that I found was that it was too light. Although that sounds like a positive, you need to be careful using it otherwise it will move around a lot, which can be annoying.

Wrapping Up My Homtone Espresso Machine 20 Bar Review

All in all, this is a pretty good machine. It might not be without faults, but if you’re a beginner or just someone looking for a machine that makes good frothy coffee, you can’t go wrong with this one.
