Drinking delicious coffee before going to work is one of the staples of almost everyone’s morning routine. However, many people (me included) just don’t have enough time in these early hours to spend 10 to 15 minutes using a high-end barista espresso machine to make some delicious coffee.
This was a massive problem for me for a long time, which led to me trialing out the Haden 12 cup programmable coffee maker to solve my morning coffee woes and make my mornings much more efficient once more.
So, read on to find out my thoughts on this Haden 12 cup programmable coffee maker review!
My Rating Out of 5

Time to Go Retro
So, let’s start with the positives. Now, I know this part is purely preference, but for me the retro, vintage look of this coffee machine really makes this one stand out, especially in comparison to all the clunky and ugly-looking designs that most machines have.
One thing I should also note is that the materials the machine uses are made out of plastic, but it doesn’t look like it!
So, if you have an old-fashioned interior design in your kitchen, then this is the perfect coffee machine to complement it. But if you don’t, maybe you should look elsewhere.
However, if how a coffee machine looks means nothing to you and you only care about how the coffee tastes and how easy it is to make, you should probably disregard this section.
The 12-Cup Function
The biggest benefit to this machine that I’ve found is the ability to make 12 cups of coffee with it. Give or take, it brewed my coffee out the nozzle in about 2 minutes, which is quite speedy!

Delayed Start Coffee
When you hear about this particular coffee maker, one of the biggest advantages they showcase in front of every advert is the delayed start, which first gained popularity thanks to the Mr. Coffee machines.
What this means is that you can pour all the ingredients in and then press the delayed start button. Once you’ve pressed this, you can delay the coffee so that it is only made at a certain time. This is perfect if you’re going out or going to work and want a nice, freshly brewed coffee when you get home.
All you need to do (in theory) is press the delayed start button, set the time to when you want it to start brewing, and you’re good to go.
However, saying this, lots of reviewers have mentioned that the delayed start function didn’t work for them, and they had to send it back to get a working one.
Personally, I never encountered this problem, and the delayed start function worked perfectly.
It’s also a good idea to make sure you set up the clock first. And remember, it is a 24-hour clock, so don’t set it for 6:00 if you want your coffee brewed for 6 pm!
The Filter
For environmentalists and money-savers alike, you’ll be glad to know that there is a reusable filter inside the coffee maker, which is fantastic for those who don’t want to keep buying new coffee filters all the time.
But, this filter is not very high-quality, so for those looking for an excellent standard of coffee, it may be a good idea to find a different coffee machine.
