In my opinion, pour-over coffee is some of the nicest coffee you can try. Because of this, I was excited to try out and write this Gevi 4-in-1 smart pour-over coffee machine review to see how it stacks up against an everyday pour-over coffee maker.

So, feel free to read on as I list all the benefits and drawbacks of this unique machine in my unbiased review.

Let’s start!

My Rating

The Design of the Coffee Machine

The design of this pour-over machine is unlike any I’ve ever seen before. The stainless steel look of the pour-over design really stands out, and everyone who came to visit had at least one positive remark to say about it.

The Taste of the Pour Over Coffee

The taste of the pour-over coffee was truly delicious. Thanks to the high-quality grinder, the rotating spouts, and the water heating system, it was able to produce some of the best pour-over coffee I’ve ever tried (and I’ve tried a lot!).

The 4-in-1 Design

The main reason anyone will get this machine is the 4-in-1 design. But what is included in this 4-in-1 machine? In short, it includes a coffee maker, an integrated grinder, a scale, and a water heating system. Crazy, right?

Easy to Use

When I heard that it is a 4-in-1 machine, the first thing I thought was “How complicated is it to use?” Luckily, there are very few buttons to press, and the ones that do exist are all easy to read and use.

On top of this, Gevi’s Beginner Mode also displays an instruction screen to tell you exactly what you need to do to make great coffee using the different settings. There are tons of preset coffee recipes in the machine, so if you’re tired and don’t want to go through the whole process, you just press a few touchscreen buttons on the screen at the top and you’ll see the coffee made for you.

After I understood exactly what I needed to do, I was able to use the Master Mode to make coffee much quicker than ever before.

Furthermore, the touchscreen at the top is quite small; however, it is very easy to use and navigate and is highly responsive. What’s more, it looks fantastic, too!

Rotating Spouts

Getting the coffee extraction right is one of the most important things when making good coffee. This machine has three 360-degree rotating spouts, which pour water onto the coffee grounds at different spin speeds for providing the best coffee extraction.

I must say, I definitely noticed the improvement in flavor when drinking coffee from this machine compared to many others which don’t have this rotating spouts feature.

Cleaning the Machine

Cleaning is probably the single worst thing about owning a coffee machine.

Luckily, the Gevi 4-in-1 smart pour-over coffee machine is reasonably easy to clean. The grinder is easily accessible to clean (and comes with its own little brush), and the glass carafe can also be cleaned really easily. Just wipe the surface of the machine down now and then and you’re good to go!

However, there is a slight negative of this machine. As it doesn’t have a water filter, I needed to regularly descale this machine to ensure the coffee didn’t lose its great taste. There is a descaling mode with this machine though, so it does make this slightly easier.

The Filters

There are three different filters that come with this machine.

The first is the stainless steel filter. This is a fantastic reusable filter and is very durable. I found the taste to be reasonably nice, but if you’re making pour-over coffee, which I was, then I preferred the two others.

The second is the PCTG filter. This was a great filter; personally, this was the one I used the most, on par with the paper filters.

The third is the paper filters. This is the classic way of making pour-over coffee, and I loved the coffee taste that came with them.

The Water Tank

The water tank is one of the best features of this machine. Made from high-quality stainless steel, it has a 1000-watt heating system to provide hot water in almost an instant, making the coffee-making process as quick as possible.

Another massive benefit is that I could change the water temperature in the water tank to best suit how I liked my coffee. With options to change it from 176 degrees Fahrenheit to 210, I could choose the perfect temperature to make the best and most unique cup of coffee that I prefer.

In fact, I could also use it to boil water, so if my kettle breaks, I had a backup just in case!

The Grinder

Unfortunately, most grinders that you see on coffee machines are often quite bad. However, I found this one to be a delight.

This machine comes equipped with commercial grade 60mm flat burr grinders, and 51 different settings for producing the best possible coffee grounds. It’s positioned vertically, meaning there’s next to no coffee ground retention in the grinder after using it.

I loved the grinder on this machine and found that I could make it as coarse or as fine as I wanted, depending on the coffee I was making.

The grinder is also next to the maker and doesn’t feed directly into the coffee machine, so if you’d prefer to use another coffee grinder, you can.

What makes this grinder truly unique is that I could use it to make the perfect grounds for French press/Aeropress, filter drip coffee, pour-over coffee, and espresso.

I tried out all these options, and here’s how I got on:

French Press/Aeropress

The first thing I did was try out the French press grinder feature on this machine. I love French press coffee, so I was excited to try it out. In short, the coffee quality was great, and I found that it much improved the taste of my French press coffee.

Filter Drip Coffee

Filter drip coffee is one type that probably everyone has drunk at least once, and it sometimes gets a bit of a bad reputation. However, filter drip coffee, which is made properly, is absolutely delicious. Therefore, I was interested in seeing how it would taste with this grinder.

The result? Well, I enjoyed the coffee taste that it made, and I personally thought the coffee produced was much higher quality than many others I’ve tried.

Pour Over Coffee

Pour-over can create really delicious coffee, so I wanted to see whether this one would live up to expectations. In short, as I’ve explained earlier, it was wonderful, producing really high-quality coffee.

Espresso

The espresso feature is also great and makes espresso grounds that rival lots of cafes I’ve been to and adds to the taste by a lot.
