Capresso is known by many coffee nerds as a great brand when it comes to coffee makers. The Capresso 124.01 Ultima Pro is the latest in their long line of great coffee machines.
Because of all this, I decided to try this one out for myself to see whether it is really worth all the commotion or not.
So, read my review below as I list all the pros and cons of this machine.

The Design
The design of this machine isn’t going to win any awards, but it is functional, and the buttons are easy to read, so it’s simple to use for anyone.
The black and silver design makes it look timeless, and with these colors, you can’t go wrong. It blended in with the rest of my kitchen easily and complemented it quite well.
However, when I looked a bit closer, I noticed that the machine isn’t made out of shiny black and silver metal but plastic instead.
This does make it look a bit tacky, but if you don’t spend too much time staring at the machine or if you don’t mind the plastic look, this shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Easy to Use
As I said, this machine is very easy to use. There are easy buttons to press for powering it on, for one shot or two shots, hot water, and steam.
Another big benefit to this machine is its self-tamping portafilter feature.
All I needed to do was insert the portafilter basket, and then the machine automatically tamped the grounds for me. Simple!
However, if you like having more control over your cups of coffee and enjoy tamping the coffee yourself, this machine is probably not for you.
The Top Storage Compartment
Everyone loves a warm cup or glass before pouring coffee into it. It adds that extra bit of warmth, but unfortunately, you only really get to enjoy it in coffee shops.
However, now you don’t have to wait until you go to a coffee shop!
This machine has a top compartment that heats your coffee cups and glasses so you can enjoy a warm cup whenever you want.
Coffee Quality
For a reasonably priced coffee machine, it produces good quality coffee. It’s not the best coffee I’ve ever tasted, but if you want good, easy coffee, you can’t go wrong with this machine.
However, there are a few things you need to be aware of.
If you grind the coffee too coarsely or put too little coffee inside, it can result in not enough pressure in the machine, causing the coffee to not come out properly.
Because of this, you might need to use it a few times before you get a hang of it.

So, although it’s not a perfect machine, the Capresso 124.01 Ultima Pro is a great coffee maker for those that want good coffee at a reasonable price.
